Highlights
The data cable category Cat-5E (enhanced or improved) originates from the Cat-5 and it is backwards compatible, with the standards of the inferior categories (Cat-5 and Cat-3). The 5E category achieves transmission frequencies of up to 100 MHz (in each pair) with a throughput of 100Mbps. This type of cable complies with the standards 10BASE-T and 100BASE-T and will be mainly used in these installations.
